To My So-Called 'Representatives': Fax You!

This weekend, I sent a fax to The News and Observer, Sen. Kay R. Hagan (D), Sen. Richard Burr (R), Rep. David E. Price (D), and President Obama.

You can send them one, too. It's easy.  Details follow the contents of my fax, which said:

Like it or not, America must make good on the bills rung up during the Bush administration. It's the right thing to do.

What's NOT right is the idea that those beneficiaries of the Bush Tax Cuts have no stake in the recovery form the crisis that they actually caused (even if only indirectly).

We no longer believe Bush Tax Cuts beneficiaries are "Job Creators". For over a decade, their taxes have continued to fall, and so have American job numbers.

It's taken far-too long, but we've figured out that
trickle-down economics has never worked for 98% of us.

The solution to this "crisis" is easy enough to say in 4 words: Tax multi-millionaires and billionaires.
Or: Reverse Bush's Tax Cuts....
Or: Reverse *Reagen's* Tax cuts....
Problem solved.

Please represent us. Support us 98%'ers.... Us working people, who aspire to retain or regain our middle class life. How? You know how. It's not politically easy, but you know the answer: Return millionaires and billionaires their proper share of a stake in our country's economic well-being. If you don't support us, we will not support you.

Sincerely,

-dB-

  1. Thanks for addressing this and providing the link so we can do something about it!

  2. I have come to learn that by comparison, e-mails are now almost completely ignored, as pols understand how easy it is to fake an e-mail letter writing-campaign "ground swell". I suspect that faxes will likely suffer the same fate (if it has not already done so).

However, the upside is that a phone call (non-recorded, of course) or a postal letter (especially, handwritten) to your reps' offices carry more weight than ever before. Kind of ironic, eh?
