Woot My Desktop: Issue 1 - Welcome

To me, a permanently rotating PC desktop wallpaper is the sign of a restless wit. I'm comfy with the desktop changing every 90 seconds or so. OSX and *NIX do for you out-of-the-box; it's been that way for as long as I can remember.

Now, so does my new rocket-launcher Windows 7 work box: Desktop ==> Personalize ==> My Theme. For earlier versions of Windows, I've used Wallpaper Master. The freeware version works well during the breaks of those shows where my music projects deploy our live eye candy.

See the complete WMD collection.

Over time, I've collected a fair amount of desktop. Apparently, some of them are interesting. At least, they are clearly comment-worthy. Here (above) is the one that made me decide to put this together. I guess it *is* kind of funny.

So, if you ever asked me "How can I get that desktop wallpaper?", this feature is for you. If I remember the original source of the the wallpaper, I'll cite that source here. In the case of the above graphic, I simply lifted it from Google Images, stretched out the edge, and slapped the caption over it. It took 2-minutes and two words: Irfan-Freeking-View.

Voila! Woot, My Desktop. I decided that W.M.D. is somewhat less trite than Pimp My Desktop, or whatever. The entire collection (so far) is available to you, as Picasa hosts it (with my gratitude). You can get the 4x3 version(s) there, if that's what better suits you.

Eventually, I hope to figure out how to automatically sync the Picasa account with this part of the blog.

Here's another one.

More, soon.
