Political (and somewhat Personal) Post : For the past several weeks, I've been turning over some lyrical putty in my head for the latest Blue Marble Beat groove. Like much of our better recent stuff, my patient BMB partner, Ski, put my nose to the trail, by sending me some lyrics he calls, "Jihaudio", which came from a favorite bandname of mine, from back in the day (before FauxNews heisted the perjorative meaning of the word). Because I sing/front BMB, I get to revise edit, amend, append, twist and rework the words to suit my (many) quirks. Like most things, I take my sweet time doing it. Clearly, it is a painful process for Greg and Ski. I'd bet the results of the truly collaborative effort is probably is the only saving grace of the process, for them. It's quite the blessing how they allow me to put my most earnest efforts into the song's content - every single time. Maxim has it that "no one really cares about the lyrics, anyway." And that maybe true, but *I* care. And BMB lets me. I deeply love them for that. They indulge me in what could be the planet's most juvenille vain endevour: an aspiring, would-be writer/"poet"... in the traditional "Rock and Roll" band context, no less. I probably wouldn't let *you* do that. But they let me...
Anyways, while researching for EyeCandy : i-can-d : Eye Candy and other conventions that might make the resulting presentation poignant, compelling, and relevant without being offensive, I found "Truth Jihad: My Epic Struggle against the 9/11 Big Lie" by Kevin Barrett from www.lulu.com, an exceedingly cool new service from some of the same minds that brought you Red Hat. They should hire Greg.
In a (loosely) related matter: On the way to the above resource, I found yet more brilliance from another Greg - Greg Palast, America's best investigative journalist. Ironically, he works for the BBC. heh. He wrote an article called "How They Stole the Mid-Term Election". Further, Mr. Palast suggests how we can steal our votes back.
Freedom is on the march.
